Re My Tactics and Tutorials:

If you’ve been into Internet marketing for any length of time you’ll know that Internet Marketing techniques chop and change as and when the giants ( like Google/YouTube/Amazon etc.) update their ‘Dos and Don’ts’ -and they change their rules all the time.

The tactics I talk about on this site work for me – they may or may not for you. Use due diligence, read these companies Terms of Service pages and make your own decision as to what you want to do online and how. You are responsible for your online destiny, not me.

Re Links on this site:

You can safely assume that if I recommend a product or service on this site that I have some kind of relationship with that site or individual, monetary or otherwise. That said I only link to products that I personally use or recommend to complete the processes I teach about.

Earnings Disclaimer

I don’t think I’ve ever claimed that you will make $XXX using my tactics anywhere on this site. Sometimes I might mention money I’ve made with a tactic I promote here. The point is I make no guarantee of rankings, earnings or anything else. You’re obviously smart ( because you are a member of my membership site or a reader of my Blog) and therefore know that what you do, or make online is down to you. I just hope I can help with the tactics I teach and the software, whatever, I use. You and only you are in charge of your online destiny.

Thanks for being a member and/or a subscriber, I really do appreciate it.

Clive

If you do not want that to happen then search for the product online and have that commission be paid to another promoter. Clive can live with that 🙁

How To Stop Being Google’s Bitch!

How To Stop Being Google’s Bitch!

By on December 15, 2014 in Latest with 6 Comments

We all know this right?

If our income is based purely on our organic rankings – Google or YouTube or both – rankings that can be blasted out of existence at any time, and at the whim of the Google Gods, that seriously sucks right? Lord knows they’ve seriously screwed me in the past!

Don’t get me started!

Seems like when you are trying to make a decent buck online that Google is actively anti you/us, why the hell is that?

Sheesh! Making money re offering quality content via smart SEO seems to be regarded by Google as being BAD!

hulk-google (1)

THINGS I’VE LEARNED WHILE WATCHING VARIOUS STREAMS OF INCOME PLUMMET:

  • Stop taking it personally –  Google could care less who the heck you are! So to heck with them!
  • Don’t spend an inordinate amount of time trying to resurrect ‘dead’ sites – Sure it might be possible by trying to lose all those crappy backlinks that you set up back in the day one by one, or by using the Google ‘Disavow’ Tool and all that stuff. My view? Waste of time and somewhat demeaning to boot!
  • Never be afraid to ditch – domain names, sites and content. Why hang on to stuff that either is no longer indexed or ranked well. I know it’s hard to let go but move on!

I am still struggling with that I freely admit – it’s hard to let go of projects that one has invested a lot of time into ( maybe money too) and which were previously successful.

  • Stop buying Domain Names – I reckon that the days of the so called ‘exact match’ domain name getting you a search engines rankings boost are a thing of the past, or will be soon. Stop renewing domain names that you are never going to use – try and sell them ( GoDaddy Auctions or Sedo).
  • Forget about Loopholes and Cheats – yes, short term, that might work but we’re here for the long term right?  I’ve been guilty of that in the past for sure. If there’s a loophole trust me that far, far smarter minds than ours will discover it and find a way to close it.
  • If something you are doing isn’t working stop doing it!  ‘Nuff said!

THINGS I’VE LEARNED WHILE WATCHING VARIOUS STREAMS OF INCOME SOAR:

  • Stop researching and start doing – sure you need to be kept up to date on smart ways to market but do that in tandem with actually doing it. Specically ‘kiil it’ with smart video marketing – I’ve yet to find a better way to get daily income, via easy to create, set & forget, campaigns that pay me every day.
  • Build that list – yeah I know, I fought against this for so long but escaping the vagaries of the Google Gods requires that you have a list of subscribers that you cherish and look after. I know that some of what I do would make many internet marketers laugh or weep in disbelief. But I can sleep at night knowing I’m providing good stuff and to hell with them ( the gurus that is!)
  • When you know how to do something well spread the word – there’s the fear that this means that everybody in the internet marketing world is going to steal your ideas and so by telling others you will be shooting yourself in the foot.

This is not the case – chances are that only a tiny percentage will actually do anything with the knowledge you impart and the internet is a massive market with innumerable niches. In other words take the bit between your teeth and do a WSO.

  • Find new income streams all the time – preferably non Google related but even if they are reliant on organic search spread your stuff into different streams of income. Also don’t write off Bing!

I’ll be adding to this list as and when – your comments. as always, are appreciated…

Great post. You listed some key areas that I have been guilty of myself. The main ones for me are:

    1.Stop buying domain names.

2.Ditch sites that are no longer making me any money.

    3. Stop researching & start doing.

Honestly, I’m guilty of most of the ones you mentioned but these 3 stick out the most. It’s time to “focus” on the future and not fret over the past.

Great post Clive, makes a lot of sense. When you say “In other words take the bit between your teeth and do a WSO.”
I’ve got a WSO almost ready to go that I put on the backburner because I couldn’t suss out the technical stuff i.e. secure download page.Bought a few courses and searched on YT for decent instructions, but still drawing a blank. The creative stuff I’m ok with but the technical sh*t is my Achille’s heel.Guess that’s a part of my game I need to work on.

  3. Paul says:

I agree too it’s a great post. It’s hard letting go when you’ve put so much time and money in to a site that Google effectively “kills” off. It feels like a kick in the teeth.
Never be afraid to ditch is good advice but something I struggle with.

  4. Mark Bradley says:

“Yeah it’s bit of a learning curve. Contact me privately via Skype and I’ll give you some tips if you want.”

That would be awesome Clive, thanks. As an IM Power I signed up for the FB group and just hadn’t gotten around to joining the Skype group, so I will send you a request.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  5. Todd Schafer says:

I”m wondering with regard to domain names, I do have heard that exact match domains are no longer the darling. But aren’t some older domains simply good for their age or PR?
